G12-M4 Tethered Power Station is designed for DJI Matrice 4T and Matrice 4E drones, providing over 24 hours of safe and reliable long‑endurance flight power. The L6 floodlight is optionally available to deliver wide‑area, high‑illuminance outdoor lighting.

The system mainly consists of the tether box (ground module), onboard power supply (air module), and the optional L6 floodlight. The tether box integrates AC/DC conversion, tether cable, automatic winding mechanism, servo motor, communication module, cooling system, and control management. It converts AC power from mains, generators, or mobile power sources into high‑voltage DC, transmitted through the tether cable to the onboard power supply, which then converts it to low‑voltage DC to power the drone and payloads such as the floodlight, enabling uninterrupted flight of 24 hours or more.

By mounting gimbal cameras, floodlights, searchlights, loudspeakers, and other payloads, the tethered drone can perform long‑duration video capture, area surveillance, high‑power lighting, search and illumination, public address, etc. It is widely used in cinematography, emergency lighting, communication command, aerial monitoring, public security, traffic supervision, disaster relief, emergency firefighting, news reporting, scientific research, and defense.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: Can I touch the tether cable after high‑voltage is turned on?
No. The manual clearly states that no operation on the tether equipment is required during the entire flight after high‑voltage is enabled. The cable carries high voltage; although insulated and capable of withstanding 3500VDC, in humid conditions or if worn/cracked, there is a risk of leakage. Even with insulated gloves, contact is dangerous. Our system is contact‑free by design.
Q2: Can I turn on the tether box high‑voltage before starting the drone?
No. The drone performs a self‑check after power‑on and requires battery data communication. If high‑voltage is applied first, only power is provided without battery data, which may cause the drone to fail self‑check and report errors. The correct sequence is: start remote controller → start drone and wait for self‑check → apply AC power to tether box → enable high‑voltage → take off.
Q3: Do I need to constantly monitor the tether box during flight?
No. The operator should focus on the drone itself. Check the voltage on the remote controller screen – if it stays above 16V, power is normal. If it drops below 16V or an alarm occurs, land the drone first and then investigate.
Q4: The tether box display voltage fluctuates significantly and won’t stabilise. What to do?
Land the drone and check battery level or power source capacity. a) Drone battery is low – the tether supply must power the drone and payloads while charging the battery, triggering overload protection. b) Insufficient input power – triggers under‑voltage protection.
Q5: The remote controller alerts “Battery contact issue, return or land” or “Insufficient battery power, return or land”. How to handle?
This is normal and requires no action. Since both drone and payloads are powered by the tether system, the drone detects no battery output during flight. As long as the battery latch is secure, ignore the warning.
Q6: The remote controller shows “Strong wind, fly with caution”. What to do?
If this occurs in calm or light wind, check whether the payload is overweight or the cable tension is set too high.
Q7: If the working altitude is far below the cable length (e.g., 55m cable but only 10m needed), should I pull out all the cable beforehand?
No. Instead, approximately every hour, fly the drone higher to passively pull out the cable for heat dissipation, hover for about 1 minute, then return to the normal working altitude.
Q8: Why can’t I turn on the floodlight when the drone is on the ground?
The floodlight lacks active cooling and relies on drone propeller airflow for heat dissipation. The software prohibits turning it on before takeoff to a certain height and automatically turns it off after landing to prevent overheating.
