G35‑M400 Tethered Power Station is a tethered power system designed specifically for the DJI Matrice 400 drone. It consists of a ground‑based tether box and an airborne power supply. Using 850V high‑voltage transmission, the tether cable is thinner and lighter with lower wind resistance, reducing the load on the drone’s propulsion system. The new AI‑driven speed and torque control system supports cable retraction/extraction speeds up to 5 m/s, delivering truly hands‑free, contact‑free automatic cable management – no cable sag, oscillation, severe swinging, or sudden jerking. Multi‑end connectivity is supported via the device panel, mobile app, PC, and drone remote controller.

The Matrice 400 tethered drone can carry mission payloads such as gimbal cameras, floodlights, searchlights, loudspeakers, optical‑display devices, cleaning spray guns, etc., enabling long‑endurance aerial video shooting, area surveillance, high‑power illumination, searchlight scanning, voice broadcasting, warning announcements, light‑show projection, curtain‑wall cleaning, and more.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: Can I touch the tether cable after high voltage is turned on?
No. After high voltage is energised, no operation on the tether equipment is required throughout takeoff and landing. Although the cable is insulated and withstands 3500VDC, there is still a risk of exposed high voltage in wet conditions or if worn/damaged.
Q2: Can I turn on the tether box high voltage before starting the drone?
No. The drone performs a self‑check after startup and needs battery power plus data reporting. If high voltage is applied first, the drone may not get battery data and may report errors. Correct sequence: start remote controller → start drone and wait for self‑check → apply AC to tether box → apply HV → take off.
Q3: Do I need to constantly monitor the tether box display during flight?
No. The operator should focus on the drone itself, only occasionally checking the voltage at the top‑right of the remote controller screen. As long as the voltage stays above 51V, the tether power is normal. If voltage drops below 51V, an audible alarm occurs, or other anomalies appear, land the drone first and then troubleshoot.
Q4: The tether box display voltage fluctuates significantly and cannot stabilise. What should I do?
Land the drone and check the battery level or power supply capacity. a) Insufficient tether battery – the power supply must charge the battery while powering the drone and payload, triggering overload protection. b) Insufficient input power – triggers undervoltage protection of the tether supply.
Q5: The drone remote shows “Strong wind, fly with caution”. How to handle?
If this occurs in calm or light wind, check if the payload is overweight or the cable tension is set too high.
Q6: If the operating height is far lower than the cable length (e.g., 110m cable but only 30m height), do I need to pull out all the cable in advance?
No. You can fly the drone higher for about 1 hour to passively pull out the cable for heat dissipation, hover for 1 minute, then return to the normal operating height.
Q7: Why can’t I turn on the floodlight when the drone is on the ground?
The floodlight has no active cooling; it relies entirely on the drone’s propeller airflow. The software prevents the light from turning on below a certain height and automatically turns it off after landing. So it cannot be activated on the ground.
